Why do you want a Pembroke?
I want to adopt a Permbroke because asides from their adorable physical traits , they are very docile dogs. Since I've been out of school, I'm in need of a companion who will help me combat my feelings of loneliness. I love how friendly they are and how intelligent they can be. I have no experience with the breed, but I'm open to learn from them along the way. Yes, I have done research on them and am becoming familiarized with the amount of attention they need, as well with their congenital diseases.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Take him/her for walks to the nearby park. Have him/her play with my 12 year old sibling. Let him/her play in my yard. Have him/her play with toys. Allow him/her to rest in my lap close to bed time. Have him/her sleep in my room.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I really like the size of the breed and I think they are very cute. My current dog is very high energy so I'm looking for an active breed that can keep up with her during play time but isn't overly active. Also from my research I have learned that the breed is fairly intelligent and since I have experience with training one dog already, I think the breed would be a perfect fit.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Going on walks and to the park with my current dog. We have a pretty large fenced in yard where we like to play fetch and frisbee. Training would be very important, my current dog and I are starting to work on more advanced things that I would also like to do with another dog.

Who is this dog for?

Myself. I have had 2 Corgis in the past. I recently lost my very sweet Pembroke Corgi to pancreatitis. I have a mixed breed female (dachshund/beagle) who is about 5 years old. Both she and I are very lonely without our dear friend. I really want a male Corgi because he would get along better with my other dog

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I have had 2 Corgis. I love the breed. They are such happy, joyful and intelligent dogs. They love to play but also love to roll over and have their tummys scratched. My first Corgi was a puppy, my second a rescue. Both dogs were wonderful, easy to train, eager to please. They are such beautiful little dogs. . . and they have those darling fluffy butts.

Tell him "no". If it's a housebreaking issue show him where he needs to go. If it's something like chewing shoes I'd keep the shoes out of reach, give him something else to chew. For us and our home!

Why do you want a Pembroke?
We want to adopt a Pembroke Welsh Corgi because they are happy, energetic dogs. I have dog sat for a family with a Corgi, and I absolutely fell in love with Norah. She was kind, loving, and fun to spend time with. We are very interested in this breed!

Activities planned with Pembroke:
We plan to take our dog outside frequently as we live in an apartment building, and we want to make sure our dog gets time to walk and be outdoors. We also plan to take our pup to the park and dog beach near our home in Chicago. We are active people and want to share our outgoing energy with our dog.

Me 😀and my family.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I personally love the breed. Over the years have done research on breeds so I know what kind of dog I would like to get when I am able. I think that corgis are a good size, not so large that they can't sit on your lap,you butt so tiny that there is nothing there. I think they are playful and friendly beings that also like being couch potatos. I know that they are in good health and generally like 10-15 years.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Cuddle, go for walks, take with me on occasional trips to see friends in Michigan. Help me be a bit more active, but also binge watch TV shows and be a couch potato.

Discipline:
Clearly showing in my expression and body language when something they are doing is okay or not okay. If they do something wrong, show them to the yard or a cage for a short amount of time.

Who is this dog for?

Both my fiance and I.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
We both personally love the breed. We want a small dog that is outgoing, but can be relaxed at times. I love that this breed of dogs are loyal companions and family friendly because that is important to us. We haven't had many experiences with the breed, but we have done research and we feel like we would be able to handle a dog that needs daily exercise.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
We would take him/her on walks around the university campus and go to the dog park to run around and play. We would give our corgi lots of love and affection! Our parents both have dogs and we enjoy playing and snuggling with them!

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
We would redirect behavior to the desired outcome and positively reaffirm with praise or a treat. We are willing to learn other best practices on how to handle this situation as well!

Discipline:
Reward based methods have a positive affect with Pembroke Welsh Corgis. We would give our corgi a treat after obeying commands, however during the first stages of training our dog needs to understand that we are the leader and not the other way around. We are both very interested in learning best practices in training our corgi as well.

At our apartment home as well as getting exercise outside in the neighborhood.
