Why do you want a Pembroke?
They are cute. I've meet several they seem friendly. One of the owner I talked to said it was kinda like having a big dog in a small package

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
Deal with it & move on.

Discipline:
like for house breaking, and they pee inside tell them to pee outside… take them outside. Getting them to pee outside would be constantly going outside after meals & saying go potty & putting in their head the picture of them peeing outside

If its a dog fight seperate them & put one in a crate.

my dogs have been good or I've been mellow I really haven't had to discipline them. I just dealt with what ever came up in the moment & moved on. I don't hit. If it is required I do raise my voice but not very often.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
with me. at home, going for coffee, or a pupachino, maybe some ice cream. no they wouldn't have full cone. Going for a walk, or hikes

Where does it want to sleep 2 options is it ok with & like a crate, then a crate, aif it doesn't like that option & is mostly house broke & doesn't eat furniture upstairs next to my bed.

I was raised with a lot of animals, dogs & cat. they always slept in bed with me & I couldn't move. it'n not going to sleep in bed, unless its really manipulative

I like to take my dogs with me as much as possible and also walk them. I'm not a highly energetic person, but I want a corgi who can meet people while walking, traveling, at parades, etc, but also can be a cuddler and quiet in the home when we are home.

I do not want a dog who bites or barks incessantly.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I adopted a 2-year-old pem 5 years ago. He was just delightful and fun. He loved everything and was sweet as he could be. The only thing he didn't like was riding in the car, but he loved it when we got to our destination. Unfortunately, I had to put him down in February due to an aggressive cancer. He had lymphoma and maybe hemangiosarcoma. I would like another corgi because I just adored my prior one.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Take him to parent's farm, walk, sometimes go to parades. Take him to friend's houses. Let people meet and greet while out and about. Take him with me while traveling. I always get pet-friendly hotels to stay in so I can take him with me. Play in the yard. Play in the house. Cuddle.
I never kenneled my prior pem. I only kenneled a prior dog once while I had to travel and hope to never do that again.

Where would dog sleep:
My bedroom. My prior pem preferred a little area with linoleum right inside my front door, so that's where he would often sleep.

Play & exercise:
I like to walk. We have one of the largest trail systems in America. It is tree lined and concrete and very nice. I also play with frisbees and balls. Sometimes tug-o-war. I would play with the dog and give it lots of attention and affection every day.

Who is this dog for?

Both of us, we live together.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
Corgis have been a favorite breed of mine for years. My siblings and I had the corgi page of a Dog Breed book marked forever, we would revisit and read about them often. Growing up, my family mostly had labs, but we also fostered and trained surrendered mini daschunds for a number of years. My fiance also grew up with dogs, both large and small breeds. Since moving in with my fiance, corgis have been at the top of our list when hunting for a future canine companion. We are both completely taken with their look and how adorable they are, they are the perfect size for our apartment lifestyle, and we both have experience with training a variety of breeds of dog. Their size and temperament seems to be a perfect match for us!

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Our apartment complex is very safe, and we love talking walks together, so we're most excited about getting a dog so that we can take them on walks with us! There is also a small fenced dog park in our neighborhood, which we would like to take them to. Most of our time at home though would be petting and loving them, hanging out, and playing with their toys.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
In our experience, dogs understand guilt and when they do something wrong. A firm "no" and angry facial expression to impress upon them that their action was wrong, along with especially praising when they do the right thing, done consistently is the best way to train behaviors.

Discipline:
Time outs if the dog is getting rowdy or over excited, firm no's at the time of inappropriate behavior, and taking away toys or treats if relevant to the situation.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
At home, in our apartment. Within the apartment, mostly in the living room and kitchen which are the biggest rooms. Most walks would take place around our apartment complex.

House dog

People at home during the day?
On my days off, yes. I typically work 3-4 days per week; during those days, the dog would be alone approximately from 8am to 5pm, while my fiance is at the lab. At least one of us is always home on the weekends.

Where would dog eat?
In the kitchen, as we have laminated floors that would be easier to clean.

Where would dog sleep:
Most likely on a dog bed in our bedroom. We have a tall bed and do not feel comfortable letting the dog up there due to the risk of back injury while jumping.

Play & exercise:
My fiance and I love walks, and we are very excited to get to have a dog to bring along. There is also a small fenced dog park where we could let the dog run around off leash. Play in the apartment could be possible with small toys.

Who is this dog for?

This Pembroke is for me! I am a newly graduated nurse living in Ann Arbor, MI. I have grown up with dogs my whole life, and I am so excited to begin my life with a dog. I am very prepared to give my future dog the attention, time, and activity that it needs. While I am working, I have dog care arranged. Corgis are a perfect fit for me because of their temperament, energy level, and love.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
This breed is so wonderful! I have met two PW Corgi mixes in my extended family and both are wonderful. They are playful, happy, charming, smart, loving and have a great amount of energy while still being willing to just sleep. I have done research on the breed and know that this would be the perfect fit. I am so willing to give affection to a PW Corgi.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
I love long walks and very slow jogs, so I would love to take my Pembroke with me. If possible, and up to the dog's temperament, agility is something that I would love to try. But ultimately, this depends on the dog and what they want to do.

I would never physically punish a dog. However, stern verbal commands, including the use of the word "no" are a big portion of discipline.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
Between my house in Ann Arbor, outside, and traveling to my parent's house.

Who is this dog for?

Both applicants will be caring for the Pembroke corgi.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I have wanted a dog all of my life, and the first time I saw a corgi I was set. I knew this was the breed I wanted for my first dog. I love their playful energy, and the way they light up a room. I have done a good amount of research on the breed and think that, although, this would be my first dog, I think I have enough knowledge in my back pocket to be able to give it the love and support he/she needs.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
I have become incredibly active in the past year, with that being said, I would take the corgi on long walks. We would go to the park, the town center, run errands together, etc. My fiancé and I love taking drives to downtown, our dog would be the third musketeer in our adventures into Chicago. I have a good-sized social circle, and both my fiancé and I have big families, our dog would be around so many people, they would never be bored!
