Who is this dog for?	It is for me (Sarah) my twin sister recently passed away and I think a dog would be helpful and therapeutic for me.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	I believe they are my spirit animal. They are energetic and sweet. I love their perky ears and how it looks like they're always smiling. I want someone I can take out and run round around with and play with. They are so excited about life and naturally happy. It would definitely lift my spirits to have a dog and its unconditional love. They can cuddle or be excited fun. I like that they can be both.
Activities planned with Pembroke:	Playing catch, going to dog parks, swimming in lake Michigan, hiking by my cabin in Door County.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:	I will prepared and understand that accidents are bound to happen. I will never scream or hit the dog for accidents. I will mainly train using a reward based system with treats and praise positive actions. (But not too many treats and plenty of exercise. An obese dog is not a healthy one.) I want to prevent and correct as much as possible, I know its just a mistake.
Discipline:	I mostly plan on being prepared. Taking them out often, picking a bathroom place out and goes their every time they need to go potty. If needed I would block off a space (the kitchen) so if there are any accidents when I cannot supervise clean up will be easier. Why do you want a Pembroke?	What first attracted me to the Corgi was that it looks identical to my German Shepard/husky mix dog that passed away, only shorter. I like their smaller size and that they are energetic. I have done research on the breed online.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:	If it went to the bathroom on the floor I would point at it say "No" and put it outside or take it outside. I would be consistent in telling it No when bad behavior took place and try to teach it the correct way to behave. I would also utilize putting it in its kennel for some time ( less than an hour) if the behavior continued.

Who is this dog for?	Hello, we have been hoping to rescue a corgi for some time if the opportunity ever came up. We love corgi's but only rescue animals, when we saw your website we thought we would give it a shot. The corgi is for myself, Lucy, and long-term partner Nathan.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	We've never personally owned a Corgi, but we have taken care of many dogs in our lives and currently care for our cats. We've spent a fair amount of time researching the breed and are aware of pros and cons of the breed. We love all dogs but Corgis have a special place in our hearts; we think they are absolutely adorable with their spunk and variations in personality. Our most recent experience was a Corgis in the park event.
Activities planned with Pembroke:	We would take our Corgi on walks to our college campus and to the dog park at our apartment complex primarily. We would also take them to the lake our family owns, and introduce him to our family members dogs (the Corgi would have 6 canine buddies in total). We would also play with the Corgi and our cats as much as possible so they would become as friendly as they are with us. One of our cats is very social and likes to play with other animals so an additional playmate would be excellent for her. We love going on long walks and hiking and having a furry friend that enjoys nature would be lovely. We have a very large apartment, in addition to the dog park outside the building, the a Corgi would have lots of room to play.

We would only use discipline as a last resort, as described below, but we would always forgive the Corgi and praise he or she when it does something well.

Nathan is normally home during the day, while I am home in the morning and at night while he is at work.
Where would dog eat?	The Corgi would eat in the apartment. He or she would have their own food dish sets near the kitchen.

We would also play with the Corgi inside with toys. While we do not have a yard, this dog park is right outside the building and is fenced in.

Who is this dog for?	Our family. We have one other rescue dog, a Shitzhu named Bella. We have always had dogs. We lost our Bassethound to cancer a couple of years ago and have really missed having a second dog.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	I have been familiar with the breed since my sister in law has had 3 of them. They have always been great family dogs. They can be head strong, but we have had hounds so we understand. I have done some research on the breed and nothing was a game changer. All dogs have personalities like people and some are just more bothersome than others. Our Shitzhu is adorable but she is yappy. All of our dogs have loved attention and we are happy to give it to them.

Who is this dog for?	Myself. I lost my baby, Lilly, to a cancerous tumor on her heart a week before her tenth birthday. She was my life. I had raised her since a puppy and we had been through everything together – we are inseparable. My home is empty without the love Lilly provided. I know I can't replace her, but I want to have that connection again.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	My last dog was a Pembroke. I used to groom dogs and they were my favorite. They're extremely intelligent, and funny, and they can hold their own but still love to be with people and love to snuggle. Why do you want a Pembroke?	I have loved this breed for quite some time and have done some research on the breed, and a Corgi will fit my lifestyle. My experiences with the breed are limited to mostly facebook groups and seeing them while at dog parks. I may have limited face to face or caring experience for a Corgi but I have had many other dogs and believe every dog should have a good home. I also love the ambitiousness and activity level of the breed.
