Who is this dog for?

Matt and I, the application if for ourselves only.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
My partner has wanted a corgi all of his life, because they are smart, loyal, and affectionate dogs. While I have never had a specific breed in mind, I have wanted a dog that can become part of our family, for us to love and cherish. Although cats are different creatures than dogs, our cats are our children and get treated as such. They bring us so much joy, love, and laughter that we are ready to expand our family and are hoping to welcome a corgi into our life. We have done research on the breed and understand that they are wonderful companions, but also require training, time, and attention. We are committed to investing the time into integrating a potential corgi into our life and will to adapt to make that work.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
We are a very active family and like to take walks and be outside. We are hoping for a corgi who likes to be around people and be social, because that's the kind of people we are.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
We would be patient with the dog, like we would with any other human as we know it takes time for them to adjust to a new schedule, people, and environment. We would use positive reinforcement training to correct the behavior.

Discipline:
Positive reinforcement–see above.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
The corgi would be in our home, aside from time outside and walks.

Yes, my Matt works third shift so he is home during the day.

Where would dog eat?
The corgi would eat in the kitchen with us, but separate from the cats.

Where would dog sleep:
I anticipate the corgi would eventually sleep in our bed, but if a kennel or pen is necessary for housetraining, that would be fine also.,

Play & exercise:
We are active people so frequent walks and the dog park is near our home so we would frequent that also. Additionally, we have several friends who are dog owners and would coordinate opportunities for them to get together.
