Who is this dog for?

My son and myself. They would be a family pet.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
My son has always wanted one and now that we are looking for another dog, I have noticed that the corgi can actually be a rescue dog. I would love another dog and don't necessarily want a bigger dog but I don't want a small "purse size" dog. So I feel that a corgi would be a perfect fit for our little family.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
We would take the dog for walks, we would go for car rides and we have a large fenced in backyard that we enjoy spending time in and would love to have a dog join us. We have a nice space for them to run, fetch, play or just hang out. They are currently building a dog park in our town also. I would enjoy the dog's companionship and love to snuggle and pet my animals.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
I work with special needs children and pets to me deserve the same type of respect and love. I hope that makes sense and sounds okay! We have to model or show them the expected behavior and work to correct it with positive reinforcements.

Discipline:
Attempting to distract them from the negative behavior. Being firm if they are using the bathroom, we would attempt to get the dog outside. Otherwise, we would clean up the "spill" and make sure to let the dog our more frequently. I do not believe in striking a dog in any matter. If the dog is "destructive", we would work to keep things that might be enticing away from the dog.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
In our home. We would both enjoy spending time with him or her. They would watch TV with us, snuggle in our beds and enjoy us as much as we would enjoy them.
