Questions Regarding Motivation for Adopting and Intentions
Who is this dog for? |
As a family pet for us, we are all aware and in agreement.
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
I love that Corgis are a smaller breed, but can have the energy of a big dog. My mother does not like large breed dogs so we did research and agreed that a Corgi is a great fit for us. I do not have experience with the breed but I have been doing research for the past two years and know the expectations and responsibilities of owning a Corgi
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
We have another dog who is in her senior years who is in need of a friend to keep her playful and active. We have a fenced backyard that is available to our dog. However, since our dog is a senior, she does not enjoy going for long walks or anything too active as she gets tired fast. We would love to be able to take our Corgi for long walks, swimming, and to the dog park.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
We believe in positive-reinforcement, for example, if our dog chews something she shouldn't, we take it away, tell her "No", then give her her proper chew toy and praise her for it. We notice she remembers better when she's praised.
Discipline: |
We do not like to use any discipline that scares or intimidates our dog, we use "time-out" where we avoid giving her attention when she misbehaves.
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
In our home and backyard.
