I have been a dog owner for the past 29 years. We started with boxers and the last dog I had was a rescued corgi named Lady Bird. She was 7 years old when i adopted her and she lived until 13. When I finally had her put down as with all my dogs I held her in my arms to see her through.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
?The corgi I recently had was a little 7 year old female. that in its self was a change for me being the last 20 some years all my dogs had been male boxers weighing over 100 pds. There was much to learn about the breed, She would have love to over eat but I kept her on a healthy diet and would not over feed, at least corgis don't drool like my boxers. but all in all i am a dog lover and bond with all breeds. The fur is an on going issue but she was such a sweet dog, gentle and my shadow for 6 years. I research all my dogs with a breeders guide that my son and I use to read before we bought him a boxer 27 years ago.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Like I said I have a large yard with a connecting grave yard, many trees and places to run. I love being out side myself. Mornings and evenings are my favorite time of day. I dont care for heat so I never spend much time out side in the heat of the day. which made my corgi very happy. All that fur.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
I never use physical punishment on my dogs, a firm NO was enough to let them know I was not happy with the behavior.

Discipline:
a time out in the laundry room was enough to handle the situation. A dog is only as good as their owner. You cant expect a dog to be house trained if your not timely with bathroom breaks. She would all so chase the neighbor golden lab. We worked out an arrangement not to let them cross paths.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
In my home. Lady bird loved our sun porch and spent most of her time out there.
