|
Who is this dog for? |
This dog would become a family dog, and live with myself, husband, and our corgi mix Moony!
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
We absolutely love this breed – their curiosity and sassiness, activity level and cleverness. We have done a lot of research on the breed and know what to expect. Our current dog has a very corgi personality, very vocal and tells us like it is. They are super cute, and so happy all the time. Our dog loves us, and we love him! The affection is another reason why we love the breed.
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
We currently take our dog on at least two walks a day, around the neighborhood. We frequently go to local nature walks when weather permits. We go camping during the summer and visit a family cottage on a lake during the summer too. We are members of the Michigan Corgi Club, so we also go to the meetups at dog parks for that club. We also invest in obedience classes a couple times a year, and have been thinking about doing agility or nose work.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
We utilize positive reinforcement training, so we show them the behavior we want them to do instead and reward when the correct behavior is done.
Discipline: |
Correction and redirection, let them know the behavior we want them to do. We also use "Taking breaks" where it's not used a disciplinary, but the dog gets to relax in their cage or a separate room with a bone if their behavior is too out of line.
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
At our home, once a week or so go to Canine College for day care.
