We have a 10 year old German Shepard dog, Shadow. The Pembroke must be compatible with sharing our home with her. We own a Business and intend to have the Pembroke join us there regularly so the dog must be friendly and enjoy interacting with people. Shadow is currently the official greeter and is quite willing to share this duty. We lost our other German Shepard dog last year and hope this Pembroke will also give Shadow a companion. Our children are adults and away at college.

| Questions Regarding Motivation for Adopting and Intentions | |||||||
|
Who is this dog for? |
This Pembroke will be adopted as a family companion for John and I . Wendy will be the primary care giver and will provide the necessary training. She is also interested in working with the Pembroke on agility if the dog is so inclined. A couch potato is also fine!
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
I had a Pembroke as a teen growing up. Once I graduated college , Spunky, came to live with John and I . We most loved the fact that spunky had a big dog personality in a small package. He was a very personable dog with a great deal of playfulness. He gave us much joy and laughter! John grew up with German Shepard dogs so after Spunky passed and we began to have children we started raising Shepard with our kids. Now that we are empty nesters we want to adopt another Corgi. We hope to travel more in the future so a smaller dog is more compatible with that lifestyle. Since we still desire a big dog personality a Corgi is the perfect choice.
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
Basic walks are a must! We live near the St Clair river and enjoy walks along the boardwalk. We plan on taking the Pembroke to our NAPA parts business so desire a dog that is friendly and willing to work as a greeter. We enjoy playing fetch with shadow in our yard so a ball drive would be great . Wendy also has an interest in training herself and a corgi to run agility. We are also fine with a couch potato as well! Finally, the Corgi should enjoy riding in the car as we love to travel.
