| Questions Regarding Motivation for Adopting and Intentions | |||||||
|
Who is this dog for? |
My husband and I have been married for a little over 1.5 years and we want to start our family. The best way to do that is to get a fur baby!
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
I have never owned a Corgi, however I've come across them and they are so sweet! I was at an outdoor restaurant once and a mouse came up (the one and only time we ate there) a Corgi was there and he kept the mouse away from us! Very cute and protective of us and its owners! I have done some research on Corgis and my husband and I actually agreed on this dog breed!!
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
Both my husband and I are active (especially when it's nice out) we like to go for walks and the park! I think it's very important that a dog is walked at least twice a day esp. when they are living in a condo! Like I said we have parks everywhere including many dog parks and the beach! I think being outside as much as possible is important for a dog.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
I think a lot of this would be trial and error, how would the dog and I work together, what would work and what wouldn't. I used to have a cat and it used to bother me when I'd see people hit for smack their cats when they did something wrong! With the cat I would use a water bottle. I don't think a Corgi would respond to that, but I would use words, not yelling, but talking. Saying "no" or something along those lines. Then use a treat of sorts to get them to do the correct thing…yelling or hitting just makes everything worse!
Discipline: |
I guess I kind of answered this in the previous box, I think we all make mistakes and do bad things. A dog is no different. I think a dog needs to be talked to, especially if they've been trained properly. No hitting or yelling!
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
In our condo with my husband and I. When we are not there we would be outside! We also have family in Wisconsin and would bring our fur baby along with us! There the corgi would be able to socialize with other dogs for longer periods of time and run outside more!

House dog or outside dog? |
House dog | ||||||
People at home during the day? |
We are not home during the day. My husband and I are gone 8am-6pm at work. However, we get up early enough to take the dog for a walk before work and would play & walk after work as well! We are home nights and weekends!
Where would dog eat? |
In our kitchen by us, not at the table, but int he same room as us. I think a healthy diet is important and we would find the best food for cost.
Where would dog sleep: |
Where ever they pleased around the condo…it's their home too. If they want to sleep on the sofa, cool. If they want to sleep in our bed, wonderful!
Play & exercise: |
I have kind of mentioned all of this before. We have many parks and take walks! Exercise is so important! The cat I used to have didn't get his exercise and was very overweight! I've seen how that effects their life and I don't want that for another animal! Parks, walks and interactions with other dogs is super important!
How will you exercise your dog? |
On leash | ||||||
