Who is this dog for?

14 y/o daughter

Why do you want a Pembroke?
We love Corgis as a breed because of their 'big dog in a little body' personality. They are adorable and active, and are said to be very friendly. From what I've read and the corgis I've met, I know the breed is good for our active lifestyle.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
-Frequent walks
-Obedience school and frequent training
-Agility training (infrequent)
-Enrichment activities (going to new places, conventions, travelling, swimming)

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
Positive reinforcement always works the best. I do not believe in harsh methods of punishment, but rather redirecting their energy into something positive, like a walk. Dogs only have a 20 second memory span, so punishing them long after an incident is also something I do not condemn. I believe in handling the dog with respect, calmness, and leadership.

Discipline:
-Sit command
-Isolation
-Distraction
-Squirt bottle
-"No!"

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
With me or my daughter, and in 20 minute spans in a crate designated for her well-being and comfort.
