Who is this dog for?

Myself.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I have friends who have a Corgi. Love his personality. Smart, Energetic. My son has a Corgi/Blue Healer mix. Most awesome dog ever. I currently own a female German Shepherd, Holly…the love of my life…but I work from home, and she thrives with a companion. When my sons dog is here, it is great. They play..keeps my Holly occupied. I am planning to add to the household with a Corgi because of their intelligence, general need of stimulation, activity level of my German Shepherd. I do not believe my German Shepherd would appreciate a dog her size…so the Corgi would be perfect.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Currently have a completely fenced in back yard…that is totally trashed….hahaha. Always try to keep the landscape up…but hey…dogs do what they do. I have 2 herding balls…1 for outside and 1 inside. GREAT toy for the active dog. We have three parks within a 10 minute walk that we go to each day for running, sniffing and playing ball. We alternate so that it is not repetitive. Sometimes we do hide and seek in the house. But, generally Ball is life. Life is Ball. Holly, the German Shepherd, also goes to daycare every Wednesday, to help with the need for constant activity and stimulation.

Encourage and praise good behavior. Anger in the voice and sternness with a NO

Discipline:
I do not use anger or meanness. Positive praise. I have my German Shepherd (there is a word that I can not think of) but I have the look at me…pay attention to me. Works great for awkward situations.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
With me. I work from home 40 hours a week. ( my dog and my sons dog are at my feet right now.) Car rides everywhere. Hair balls everywhere.
