Who is this dog for?

Both applicants will be caring for the Pembroke corgi.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I have wanted a dog all of my life, and the first time I saw a corgi I was set. I knew this was the breed I wanted for my first dog. I love their playful energy, and the way they light up a room. I have done a good amount of research on the breed and think that, although, this would be my first dog, I think I have enough knowledge in my back pocket to be able to give it the love and support he/she needs.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
I have become incredibly active in the past year, with that being said, I would take the corgi on long walks. We would go to the park, the town center, run errands together, etc. My fiancé and I love taking drives to downtown, our dog would be the third musketeer in our adventures into Chicago. I have a good-sized social circle, and both my fiancé and I have big families, our dog would be around so many people, they would never be bored!

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
I would have a stern attitude when letting the Pembroke know that he/she made a mistake, but I would still speak in a calming voice so that he/she knows I do not mean harm.

Discipline:
I would train it to use the "sit" or "no" command so he/she would stop what it is doing. I would put he/she in a timeout, not complete isolation, but no toys or petting for 15 minutes seems appropriate.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
At home 60% of the time, the other 40% would be out and about running errands or playing.
