Other preferences: |
I like to take my dogs with me as much as possible and also walk them. I'm not a highly energetic person, but I want a corgi who can meet people while walking, traveling, at parades, etc, but also can be a cuddler and quiet in the home when we are home.
I do not want a dog who bites or barks incessantly. |

Who is this dog for? |
Me | ||||||
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
I adopted a 2-year-old pem 5 years ago. He was just delightful and fun. He loved everything and was sweet as he could be. The only thing he didn't like was riding in the car, but he loved it when we got to our destination. Unfortunately, I had to put him down in February due to an aggressive cancer. He had lymphoma and maybe hemangiosarcoma. I would like another corgi because I just adored my prior one.
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
Take him to parent's farm, walk, sometimes go to parades. Take him to friend's houses. Let people meet and greet while out and about. Take him with me while traveling. I always get pet-friendly hotels to stay in so I can take him with me. Play in the yard. Play in the house. Cuddle. I never kenneled my prior pem. I only kenneled a prior dog once while I had to travel and hope to never do that again. |

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
Usually I would tell my prior pem to "Give me that" in a playful voice if he had something he wasn't supposed to. Or I would gently tell him no.
Discipline: |
Voice commands only. | ||||||
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
Inside with me when I'm home. Indoors or outdoors when I'm at work, whichever the dog prefers.

Where would dog sleep: |
My bedroom. My prior pem preferred a little area with linoleum right inside my front door, so that's where he would often sleep.
Play & exercise: |
I like to walk. We have one of the largest trail systems in America. It is tree lined and concrete and very nice. I also play with frisbees and balls. Sometimes tug-o-war. I would play with the dog and give it lots of attention and affection every day.
