Who is this dog for?

This dog is for my family. I have a 14 year old daughter, a 13 year old son, and a 10 year old son. We live on a large plot of land with plenty of room for it to run. We have two cats, and we are looking for another member of the family.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
There are many things our family loves about corgis. One of the things is cosmetic. We love their cute little legs. We also hear that corgis are very intelligent. We have owned a German shepherd before and appreciated the intelligence aspect of the breed. We have not had many interactions with a corgi before, but we are willing and able to take on any and all responsibilities a new family member will bring. We have done research on corgis, and have not seen any downsides to the breed.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
As we mentioned before, we live on a sizeable plot of land in the country, so we have plenty of room to play fetch, go for walks, and other outdoor activities.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
We would gently reprimand them and let them know that what they just did was not acceptable.

Discipline:
We would reward good behavior, but for bad behavior we would potentially give them some kennel time. We have used a spray bottle in the past with our German shepherd, and he responded to it well, so we may use this same method with a corgi as well.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
In the house mostly, with visits to the yard.
