As previously noted I recently lost my Pembroke Corgi. She was 11yr old. I dearly love Corgis and I don't want another breed. I do love my mixed breed dog but my heart belongs to Corgis

| Questions Regarding Motivation for Adopting and Intentions | |||||||
|
Who is this dog for? |
Myself. I have had 2 Corgis in the past. I recently lost my very sweet Pembroke Corgi to pancreatitis. I have a mixed breed female (dachshund/beagle) who is about 5 years old. Both she and I are very lonely without our dear friend. I really want a male Corgi because he would get along better with my other dog
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
I have had 2 Corgis. I love the breed. They are such happy, joyful and intelligent dogs. They love to play but also love to roll over and have their tummys scratched. My first Corgi was a puppy, my second a rescue. Both dogs were wonderful, easy to train, eager to please. They are such beautiful little dogs. . . and they have those darling fluffy butts.
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
I have a large fenced in yard where we can play. I also have always enjoyed walking with my dogs. I live near a small park which is ideal for walking

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
Tell him "no". If it's a housebreaking issue show him where he needs to go. If it's something like chewing shoes I'd keep the shoes out of reach, give him something else to chew. I've heard that some male rescues "mark" the furniture and that a "belly band" helps this. I don't know what that is and I've never had that problem with adopted male rescues in the past
Discipline: |
Positive reinforcement when they do what I want. "no" when I don't
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
In the house, living room, kitchen
