Who is this dog for?

We are looking for a nice dog for ourselves. I live with my 9 year old daughter and we would much prefer to rescue and animal. We had daschunds in the past and loved having a pet. It’s time to have a pet again as she’s getting old enough to help out with the daily routine of taking care of a friend.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
They are an interesting breed and seem to be very friendly. A dog that enjoys taking walks and being outdoors and is able to handle a cold climate is important. And they are adorable looking dogs too.

Description of yard:

It’s city lot of almost an acre, but there is no fence. We don’t have a place for a fenced yard. However, we plan to keep the dog leashed when on a walk and will take them to off leash dog parks for off leash activities. It would depend on the dog’s temperament if we would actually do dog parks, some don’t handle them well. We have no pool in the back yard.
