Other preferences:	Must get along with other dogs, particularly big dogs. We have a St. Bernard mix rescue that loves other dogs, but is fearful of strange people (we have him in classes). Also, must be good with children. Our kids are 12 and 14, but we sometimes have younger visitors. We are willing to work through reactivity with a rescue, as we've had to work with our current dog, but only reactivity to people or dog reactivity as long as the corgi gets along well with our current dog. We have a small fenced in yard and take our dog for walks each day as well.

Questions Regarding Motivation for Adopting and Intentions
Who is this dog for?	Our Family. We are looking to add on another fur child to our 2 children and one fur child.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	We love herding and working dog breeds in particular for their intelligence and personality. We have been around corgis and love their personality and big dog in a small package qualities. We have researched the breed and think it would be a good fit with our family and current dog. We are already used to a dog that barks when anyone approaches our house and likes to keep us all together on hikes.
Activities planned with Pembroke:	Hiking, runs, trips to the beach, road trips, camping, cuddle time, training, loving on him/her, maybe even some outfits if the dog enjoys that! We tend to take our current dog Sam everywhere with us and would plan on including our Pembroke as well.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:	We use positive reinforcement training, so for the most part, we would redirect and then praise/treat for them doing what we want.
Discipline:	I sometimes use a correction word. For nipping with puppies, I will give them a timeout in a crate. Beyond that, no discipline.
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:	With us. My husband and I both work from home and our current dog, Sam, spends most of the day under our desks hanging out. When we go out, unless it's super hot out, our dog(s) come with us. Our dog(s) sleep in our bedroom with us, cuddling until he feels like jumping down onto his dog bed. We try to work in daily runs or walks to Lake Park. It's a pretty good life!

Where would dog eat?	In the house. We feed our dog currently in the kitchen.
Where would dog sleep:	We started our current dog in a crate, but he soon became a cuddler. We also keep a dog bed for when he doesn't feel like cuddling. I'm fairly certain our corgi would find a comfy spot either in bed with one of us or in a soft dog bed.
Play & exercise:	We go on runs an average of 3x per week and walks on the other days. We also like to go hiking when we can. When we can't go on a run or walk, playing ball or tug inside helps.
How will you exercise your dog?	Both on leash and restrained to the yard

Willing to use a crate?	It's a short fence, but our St. Bernard mix has not jumped it. There are places a small dog could get loose, so we'd need to keep a corgi on leash and an eye on it until we're confident it's not going to sneak off. We generally supervise all potty visits to the backyard and use walks and runs more for exercise, partially because the yard isn't very big.

Description of yard:	Most of the backyard is pavement with a couple of flowerbeds with bark mulch. There is a garage, but we keep our truck outside the fenced part in the driveway.
