I (Heidi) work at home. I'm an artist and I sell my oil paintings through galleries. I would want a dog who is okay with just being nearby and content while I work in my studio, which is just a large room in our home. I don't want a dog that is like velcro and has to be right next to me or under foot all the time. But I have had my previous dogs' beds in there with me and they would nap while I work.

Who is this dog for?

My husband and me.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
We had a neighbor that had a Corgi named Chuck. He would come over and hang out with us (outside). He has passed away and we do miss him. I think it was his fun personality and cute short legs that we fell in love with!

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Daily walks, hiking., car rides. We'd also like to be able to take our dog to local outdoor eating areas and enjoy a meal with him, so he/she should be well behaved and not have issues with being out in public.

Vet contact info:

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
A firm 'no'.

Discipline:
Vocal commands. However we learned that daily walks go a very long way in the behavior of dogs. A tired dog is a good dog (mostly). I would want to go to training classes again to get a refresher. We took classes when our previous dogs were young but that was 16 years ago.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
In the house with us.
