| Questions Regarding Motivation for Adopting and Intentions | |||||||
|
Who is this dog for? |
My boyfriend and I have been looking to adopt a corgi. My mom and dad own a corgi basethound that is now 16 years old. I recently adopted a kitten and am in search of a buddy for him. I have only ever owned Corgi's and cannot imagine owning any other kind of dog.
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
Growing up, my parents had a corgi-husky mix. He unfortuently went blind when I was 7 years old but that was my moms life companion before she even met my dad. We found her a better home with my uncle as my sister and I were to young to be around the dog. My mom jokes all the time still that if she could have given us up, she would have to keep Madison. When my dad got back from the military when I was 10 or 11 years old, we got Piper. Piper is a Corgi-Basethound. She is the best dog anyone could have ever asked for. I took to her agility training, she trained with my mother for the Avon-39 in 2015, and has been my personal best friend my whole life. We went driving together, hiking together, and sometimes even swimming. About a year ago, Piper got Degenerative Myelopathy and has been struggling to keep up with the young puppy inside her. I have since moved out and into an apartment with my boyfriend of two and a half years. We have recently gotten a VERY energetic kitten that we love dearly. We have been talking about getting a corgi for the last two years, but the timing wasn't right. Sirius, are all black american shorthair kitten, recently went to the vet where they told us he would do better and calm down more if we got a puppy/young dog as a companion. Noah and I see this as the sign that the time is right to get our forever friend. Noah is a volunteer firefighter and needs a dog who is energetic and willing to be active with him. I am needing a snuggle bug to curl up and binge watch marvel movies with.
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
Noah and I are both very active people. We love to run, go hiking and go on long drives with the top of his convertible down! We also like watching movies and playing video games. We like to do it all!
