Who is this dog for?

Both of , we own a 13 yr old male husky.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
We have always liked corgis since we worked with Adopt A Husky as volunteers and Adopt a Husky founder Lois Leonard. Lois raised corgis along with her huskies. We feel at this time in our lives we need to move to a smaller breed than a husky and that corgis would be an ideal fit.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
We currently walk 3 miles a day with Comet, our Husky. We also have a large (1/2 acre) of fenced yard.

We have crates if needed, but eventual all our dogs have earned run of the house less the Dinning Room and Living Room which can be blocked off if necessary.

We both work day jobs, but are close enough to come home at lunch as necessary.
Our oldest daughter is a part time student and is normally home in the early afternoon.

Where would dog eat?
We have always fed our dogs in separate locations at the same time to avoid any possible issues.

Where would dog sleep:
Ideally they would sleep in the master bedroom on a dog bed. Crating is always an option if necessary.

Play & exercise:
3 miles of walking a day, supervised yard time with Comet.

How will you exercise your dog?
Both on leash and restrained to the yard

Five foot wood picket fence, the bottom currently has logs along it to prevent digging along the fence line. (20 plus years of huskies will make you do this)

3/4 Acre wooded corner lot of which a 1/2 acre is fenced. The fenced part of the yard is mainly grass and a few trees.
