Who is this dog for?

John and I are an older married couple who are looking for a dog. We lost our Flat Coated Retriever last February after 16 years of being blessed with her presence. It has taken us a year to recover from the loss as she was our “baby”. We are looking for a smaller dog because in the last year of our Retriever’s life we were carrying her up and down our stairs. We live on the water and have two grandchildren who visit frequently.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I have done research on the breed and think a Pembrooke Welsh Corgi is a good match for us. We have never owned a Welsh Corgi before but I understand that the dog is friendly, energetic, playful and loyal. We would also need a dog that we could pickup occasionally as we are getting older🙂. We also think the breed is incredibly cute!

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Walk!!! Also, play with the toys we buy for it, take on boat rides (we own a pontoon boat) and most importantly spoil!
