Who is this dog for?

Myself

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I love the personality and size of the Corgi, it's a lot of dog in a little package. I am 55 and have always had dogs. My husband passed away 5 years ago and the last of my three dogs that we had passed away this March. I didn't realize how much I missed the sound of nails clicking on the floor, and walks.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
I have a good sized fenced backyard so we can play there as well as hang out in the hammock and relax. We can go for walks, and if possible depending on the dogs personality maybe do some continued training to keep the mind sharp and help with energy level, depending on age of dog. Go for drives in the car, whatever he or she enjoys doing.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
Repeat the instruction and give praise when the dog shows that's it making the effort. Always end a training session on a good note

Discipline:
Depends on the dog and what works to get their attention. Some of my dogs have responded better to a snap of the finger to get their focus, others only require a stern tone, one of my rescue dogs responded to a clicker.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
With me in my home. If I'm not home, he or she can have full access to the house.bor if they are shy I will provide an open crate for them to have a place to go to. Every dog is different, some like to stay in a small area, some like their crate for resting while I'm gone and others take over the couch.
