Who is this dog for?

Myself

Why do you want a Pembroke?
Pembroke's have always held such a special place in my heart and I have always wanted to have one to love! Aside from their obvious adorable little noses and short little legs, I really love how smart, energetic, and vocal they are. Every Corgi I have met has had such a unique personality (usually a BIG one at that). They have such a confidence about them that is endearing. And they are the perfect size dog! I have done hours upon hours of research on the breed, and feel like we are the right active household to provide love and exercise for one of these sweet babies.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
I would like to go to the park, go for walks, car rides, hiking up north! I truly want a best friend in my dog that I can take everywhere and do everything with!

Yes

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
I believe positive reinforcement is the only way to handle it. Rewards to encourage good behavior. They are animals, they make mistakes. No reason to get upset over it.

Discipline:
Outside of saying "no" or "stop" I don't really believe in 'disciplining' a dog. You have to reward the positive behavior to encourage good behavior.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
Either at home, the park, out and about.

House dog

People at home during the day?
Yes, aside from 2 days a week, someone is home during the day all day.

Where would dog eat?
From their bowl in the kitchen.

Where would dog sleep:
Probably in my bed. If they wanted that. But if they preferred a crate, thats an option too.

Play & exercise:
I have a fenced in yard that will allow the dog to play adequately (supervised of course) and be able to run. But aside from that, my brother has a 2 acre home we could visit, and if they liked the water, my parents live on the beach. There are so many options. As well as daily walks and playing fetch!

How will you exercise your dog?
Both on leash and restrained to the yard

Fenced yard?

Yes, I have a fenced in yard.

Yes. Absolutely. My cats did not get along with my parents new dog when we lived at home (he loved to chase them). But got along perfectly with our previous dog (she passed away at 14 years old). But with the right training, everyone gets along now when the dog comes to visit or vice versa.
