Who is this dog for?

My husband and I. We recently lost my
Elderly border collie and love the corgi breed. We want to have multiple dogs and plan to have kids so we’d like a friendly dog and one small enough that we could travel by plane with.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
My childhood border collie, Boots, was friends with our two neighbor corgis back in PA. I don’t have a lot of experience with the breed but we want a friendly small dog we can travel easily with, that will be friends with a larger dog that we would leave at home for our travels.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
I always walked along the lake and ran for portions with Boots. We would also go play with my sisters dog and her kids so kid friendly is a must. We’d want to take our dog hiking and on long walks while traveling as well.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
Scolding then positive reinforcement for doing the right thing next time.

Discipline:
None really? I was a softie with Boots but we want our next dog to be well trained.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
At home with me since I work from home 3x a week, or with my husband when he is not flying (he is a pilot and often home during the day or for long periods of time between trips).
