Questions Regarding Motivation for Adopting and Intentions
Who is this dog for? |
It is for us | ||||||
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
We have been looking into all different kind of breeds, the corgi is what stood out to us the most in what we are looking for in a dog, playful and can also sit with us and relax. Also a big thing was we found that they are very responsive to obedience training. Also the best quality that we were looking for was a loyal dog and a corgi is a very high rated breed.
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
So a fun thing with my job is everyone brings in their dogs to work, small office setting, so during the day they can come to work with me and play with other dogs, with this being allowed the dog will practically never be alone which is really nice. We live by many trails and dog parks so there is always time for exercise and getting out. Of course the small things such as playing fetch or trying to teach them little tricks.

Vet contact info: |
{If yes, please provide contact information including the vet’s name, clinic name, street address, city, state, zip, and phone. Also include the website if there is one.:52}
Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
Positive reinforcement is best, the last thing you want to do is yell at your dog, this not only makes them scared but ruins the trust you have with them. Training is a team effort they need to know what they did wasn't okay but harsh words and actions only make it worse.
Discipline: |
With our previous dog we had him trained where if he did do something bad we would say kennel (We would never close the door it was like a timeout) wait like 3 minutes and then express love to them, it seemed to work in that he knew what he did wrong but then knew we still loved him of course.
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
They would spend majority of their time with me, whether that would be coming to work with me or being home with my wife and I. we also have friends that we see on the weekend that have dogs so lots of playtime.

House dog or outside dog? |
House dog | ||||||
People at home during the day? |
No one is home during the day but like I said my job is very unique in allowing me to bring my dog to work to play with the other dogs. Total of 4 dogs that are at our office, then of course having my office setup with a nice dog bed, and some toys to play with. It really is a nice setup at our office.
Where would dog eat? |
So my morning routine would most likely be the dogs routine we wake up early in the morning. Take him/her outside to go potty and then come back in have breakfast and then get ready for work, drive to work and then take him/her outside to potty again and then start our day. So I think majority of the time we would eat in the morning and then after work when we get home.
Where would dog sleep: |
All depends on what they find comfy for them, they can either sleep in their dog bed, couch, chair, and who knows kennel if that where they feel comfortable, that really is up to them. Our last dog always slept on the couch or at the foot of our bed.
Play & exercise: |
Like i said before, being at work with other dogs gives them time to interact with other dogs and play, we go on nightly walks so they will join us for that and we also have lots of trails and dog parks around the area. Also on the weekends we go over to friends houses a lot and they all have dogs so even more time to play.
