Who is this dog for?

Me. Single adult with plenty of room. Backyard and a nice deck. I had a mini
Dacshund for 16.5 years and he passed away 2 years ago. I am looking for a new buddy. I work from home, so have the time to spend with a new pup.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I love the breed. Had a dachshund for 16.5 years. Love short long dogs who are full of personality. I have several friends who have Corgis and have done a lot of research. I would prefer to provide a home for a dog that needs rescuing as opposed to going to a breeder.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Playing in the back yard, lots of walks, socializing with all my doggie friends.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
I would rely on learning from a trainer for some guidance. With my last dog, we worked on positive reinforcement for positive behavior. I would follow that same idealogy.

Discipline:
Voice commands and positive behavioral reinforcement.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
In my home including deck and yard areas. If it make sense, I would crate train on the main floor of my home. Walks too.
