Who is this dog for?

This Pembroke would be my companion animal and friend. I am a 30 year old single man who works from home and has a secure job. I live by myself and have no other pets, and my adopted Pembroke would get 100% of my love and attention. I have a fenced yard and am willing and able to provide my Pembroke with plenty of exercise and stimulation. I am nearly always home. If I am gone for longer then 4 hours I would hire a dog walker to visit during my absence. I have previously had all types of cats, dogs, and caged exotic animals, so am well versed in proper feeding, vet care, and life long nature of a adopting a pet. I would prefer an adult dog who is already housebroken. I am open to purebred or mixed dogs. Willing to consider special needs or elderly dogs as well.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I know several people who have Pembrokes. I have gotten to play with them more than once. I think they are beautiful dogs with lovely personalities. I love how they are smart, bold, and can be mischievous. But with love and consistent positive training, they are amazingly loyal dogs who want to learn how to make their owner happy. I think the "big dog in a small package" is amazing. Corgis offer the benefits of big dogs and small dogs in one!

Activities planned with Pembroke:
I would take my Pembroke for daily walks (2-3 times per day or as often as the dog would like). I plan to socialize my pembroke with other dogs. If it does well with other dogs, I would take it to an offleash dog park and play fetch. I would take my Pembroke hiking and/or jogging depending on how much exercise it can handle. I believe a tired dog is a happy dog.

I like taking road trips and would love my Pembroke to come with me! It's fun to stay in dog friendly hotels and airbnbs.

I'd take my Pembroke to dine at restaurant patios.

I'd train my Pembroke to "come when called", "leave it", "sit" and "stay" at the very least.

I'd buy enough beds and toys so that my Pembroke has a selection of safe comfortable places to sleep around my apartment. I'd take regular breaks throughout my workday to play with my Pembroke. Ideally, my Pembroke would nap at my feet while I work from home, and then would wake up for a walk or game of fetch throughout the day.

I would crate train my Pembroke for their own safety, but once trained I would let my Pembroke sleep in bed with me.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
If I caught the dog making the mistake in the act, I would firmly say "No!" or "Stop!" to interrupt the behavior. If I did not notice until after the fact, I would try to positively reenforce the correct behavior while disregarding the bad behavior.

Discipline:
Loud, startling noises are the only method of discipline I would use with a dog. And I would only use those sparingly. If a dog is barking uncontrollably, I may put him or her in a safe space such as a bathroom or crate for a time out (30 seconds max).

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
My Pembroke would spend most of it's time at home with me. It would have free range my my home during the day, and would be allowed on the couch and bed. I would provide supervised access to a fenced yard.
