Who is this dog for?

For me and looking to raise it with my girlfriend.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I have not had a dog before but my family had and my girlfriend had a little dog ( Chihuahua mix) and I love this a lot. One of the many times we went to the beach with her dog I was a little Corgi and fell in love right away and since then always point them out to my girlfriend and she says this is the dog for you that can be playful with you and make me not be a couch potato all the time.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
I live close to Millennium Park and I think that’s a great place to take my Corgi our where he can play in the grass. There are a lot of quiet park over here too. I would love to play with my Corgi every day with some toys for him since I have seen how much joy playing with my girlfriend’s dog brings me.

Yes

No

Vet contact info:

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
I would give him a little clap (not hard) since I know that works for my family’s and my girlfriends dog

Discipline:
My way of discipline would be by reward in particular giving treats for following and doing what I would like to him to do. I am a believer in positive reinforcement and rewards being strong than penalizing for learning. I would like to raise my Corgi the same way.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
Probably a good a amount of the day in my one bedroom apartment but also in the Millennium park or at the beach by my girlfriends place.

Where would dog eat?
Closer to my apartment entrance. I have an area where my girlfriends dog currently eats next to the entrance door where I have laid out a little mat

Where would dog sleep:
Probably in my bedroom but not in my bed but a bed on the floor. That’s where my girlfriends dog currently sleeps.

Play & exercise:
There’s plenty of opportunities in the Millennium Park for him to play and with the toys I’d get him. There should be a lot of opportunities to run and play with other dogs and me in the park in particular.
