Who is this dog for?

 A family companion for 2 adults and one 9 year old.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We love the character of Pembroke corgis. We know them mostly from dog shows on tv and reading about the breed. We like the idea of a sturdy little dog (Big dog in a small package) that will be a good companion to our family. We also like that they have a reputation for being alert and outgoing, loyal to family and very involved in family life.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 We’d like a dog (or better yet, two!) that will go on walks with the family 1 mile, longer if they can make it. But also we’re looking for a fun companion for our son who will hang out and listen to him read (our older dog that passed away last year used to sit and be my son’s reading buddy). We just like the energy of having a dog being underfoot and part of the household.

 We are on a wooded lot on a cul de sac. Because of our location, we always take the dogs out on a leash to do their business. We don’t have a fence, but we also don’t leave our dogs outside or tie them up to leave them out on their own.
