Why do you want a Pembroke? |
I've loved this breed since i was young. Their playful, happy, friendly, and strong personality is exactly what I look for in a companion. I spent a lot of time watching after a friend's pembroke welsh corgi and was absolutely in love with him. I've done extensive research on the breed and have accommodations for their high energy spirits

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
Attention seeking behaviour will get intentionally no response (turn back to dog until behaviour ceases) then praise dog for stopping behavior. Other mistakes get strong verbal 'bad girl/boy', and only when necessary a spray from water spray bottle. If it's behaviour we cannot handle, we will visit trainer
Discipline: |
Ignoring (attention seeking), strong verbal reprimand immediately during/after behaviour, spray bottle if really bad, trainer if unmanageable
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
Inside while we are inside (working from home) and out back on a lead while supervised, and at nearby park (again, supervised)

Play & exercise: |
We live near both a large dog park and dog beach that we take our dog regularly to exercise. Corgi will get at least 3 walks a day. We like to go to state parks and our current dog and corgi come with us! and tethered to a 30ft ground lead in the back yard (supervised). Additionally, we typically spend 30m to 1h playing inside with toys with our current pup and corgi would obviously be included in this!
How will you exercise your dog? |
Both on leash and restrained to the yard
Fenced yard? |
Yes, I have a fenced in yard.
Willing to pick up dog waste? |
Yes, I will clean up after my dog.
Willing to use a crate? |
Part of the fence could allow a dog to escape if they tried, which is why we utilize both a long lead and supervision while outside
