Who is this dog for?

Family pet. Affaneh household

Why do you want a Pembroke?
Love the look of Pembroke Welsh Corgis. We need a dog who can get along with cats and the Pembroke welsh corgi was one breed that was recommended. A family friend had a Corgi and cat and they got along well and he was very friendly towards everyone he’s met.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Play fetch, go on walks, and hangout and cuddle on the couch while we watch tv. Large house and basement for him to play, especially during winter times when it’s too cold for him to be outside for an extended period.

Aware that Pembrokes are busy, noisy dogs?
Yes

Money for basic care?

Yes

Money for unforeseen medical expenses?
Yes

Willing to house train?

Do you have a veterinarian?

Yes

Vet contact info:
{If yes, please provide contact information including the vet’s name, clinic name, street address, city, state, zip, and phone. Also include the website if there is one.:52}

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
Positive reinforcement has been very effective for the dog in the past. Reward him for good behavior. Usually bad behavior has a root cause, usually not enough attention was given to the dog, so changes can be made if the occasion calls for it.

Discipline:
Positive reinforcement

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
In the basement with Omar or in the living room where the whole family spends their time.

Yes, mom is retired and spends most of the time at home, dad works mornings and Omar works nights. Someone is awake at all times of the day and night to care for the dog. Mom is currently on a schedule for the cats, up at 6am to feed them.

Where would dog eat?
He would eat in the kitchen, both in the morning and evening. With treats in between.

Where would dog sleep:
He can sleep anywhere on the first floor and basement. Omar’s room is available as well as his bed.

Play & exercise:
Lots of toys to play with, large backyard for him to run and play. Our neighbors own a golden retriever who he can run around with. We also have a basement that he can play in during his time inside. One of our cats is also very playful and loves to run around the house.
