Questions Regarding Motivation for Adopting and Intentions
Who is this dog for? |
Me | ||||||
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
I had a Corgi that recently passed away. She made me fall in love with the breed. She was loyal to the core and had such a personality of her own! She didn’t trust easily, but with time and patience, she came to trust me, and it meant the world to me. I miss her everyday. They are smart, intelligent, playful, loyal and have so much love to give to their humans.
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
Before my Corgi passed away, we went on walks around the neighborhood, took trips to the park, played fetch with the tennis ball and took trips. We had so much fun! I would do the same things with another Corgi or with any dog that I have.
Aware that Pembrokes are busy, noisy dogs? |
Yes | ||||||
Money for basic care? |
Yes | ||||||
Money for unforeseen medical expenses? |
Yes | ||||||
Willing to house train? |
Yes Willing to do formal training? Yes |
||||||
Do you have a veterinarian? |
Yes | ||||||
Vet contact info: |
{If yes, please provide contact information including the vet’s name, clinic name, street address, city, state, zip, and phone. Also include the website if there is one.:52}
Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
I would try to properly correct the mistake. For instance, if a Pembroke pees in the house, I would take the Pembroke outside immediately so that he or she would know that outside is the correct place to do that.
Discipline: |
I just say “no” when my puppy is doing something that she shouldn’t be. If she doesn’t listen, I give her a time out only for a few minutes; this method seems to work very well for her. Under no circumstance do I practice hitting or harming my dog; I completely disagree with that form of discipline.
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
He or she would go outside where we have a fenced in backyard whenever required or she would like. I would take him or her on walks fairly often, as well as trips to the park. We would play fetch with the tennis ball if that is something that he or she enjoys. We would have snuggle time. If she enjoys the company of other dogs, he/she and my dog may play together.
