Who is this dog for?

This Corgi would be a beloved family dog. My girlfriend and I live together in an apartment. We are very active and walk/run every day for over 2 mi. I had dogs growing up (miniature pinchers, german pointers, and labradors), and we really would want to have another family member!
I am 33 years old, and I have spent my career in public service, with a stable and successful career.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
We love Pembroke Welsh Corgis. They are smart and energetic. I understand Corgi's need a lot of stimulation, but I really enjoy playing with dogs either when going to my parent's home or at other dog owners' homes. I haven't had many opportunities to interact with Corgis but I do have experience with other herding breeds. Corgis have a really great size since my partner is somewhat small.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
We would go on daily walks or short runs. I have been doing daily walks for over a year now. We would also play with puzzles or toys inside of the apartment. Both my partner and I love cuddling and petting dogs, so we would spend a lot of time playing, walking, and training our new family member.

No

Vet contact info:

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
In my experience, different breeds/dogs respond differently to various types of feedback. I would favor using positive feedback when the dog follows the desired behavior. If the dog makes a mistake I would raise my voice and say "No". I would then command the dog to go to time out. If on a leash, I would pull the leash up and make the dog sit while it calms down or understands it's must be submissive.

Discipline:
In my experience with smart dogs, you need to be very consistent and not make the dog feel like they need to play games when it comes to discipline. I use a strong commanding voice, a crate or cushion as a place for time out, raising my finger to draw attention, having the dog sit and calm, etc.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
The dog would spend most of the time in the apartment with us, and walking with us around the neighborhood or nearby parks!

People at home during the day?
During the pandemic, both my partner and I are in the house. After the pandemic, we still plan on working remotely occasionally. We would make sure the dog is not alone more than 5-8 hours per day. There is also a possibility to bring the dog to work once it becomes well trained.

Where would dog eat?
The corgi would have its bowls in the kitchen.

Where would dog sleep:
The corgi would sleep on a mat in the bedroom, but we would be ok if it comes up to the bed and snuggles.

Play & exercise:
We would walk multiple times per day with the corgi. At least 2-3 10 minute walks and one long walk (30-40 minutes). We would also play inside probably an extra 30 mins to 1 hour with toys or puzzles.
