Who is this dog for?

 My husband and I. We have one elderly White Shephard. Two adult children still live at home at this time.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We have loved our shephard but he is elderly. We are considering a Corgi due to the personality and intelligence as it has been described. I am hoping that a Corgi would have a similar personality but a bit less mass.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 We take regular walks but we have a large pet friendly yard that allows for play and running.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		We start by creating spaces and routines that support avoidance of a mistake. We don't discipline behavior that has already happened.

Discipline:
 We have used positive discipline techniques with our last shephard. We trained with clicker training; treats and praise. We have had him from 12 weeks old.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
 In our home. Crates when necessary but we would hope to graduate from that over time. Currently my husband works from home so someone is here around the clock.

 We have just under a 1/2 acre yard. The whole back yard is fenced. We have trees, flower and vegetable gardens. We have a small chicken coop with three chickens that free range when possible. We are in a suburban style neighborhood at the end of cul de sac. We are close to a bike path for walking.
