Who is this dog for?

 For our family of three (we have a 10 year old son, Silas).

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 My husband, Jeff, grew up with corgis. I grew up with golden retrievers. But we are looking for a family pet, sized appropriately for our little city bungalow (with fenced backyard), for snuggles and walks.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Multiple daily walks and backyard play. We also live very near a large fenced dog park (Miller Meadow in a nearby forest preserve), which we plan to visit regularly. We also travel to Northern Michigan several times a year and plan on many (leashed) walks in the woods and beaches.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		Correct and redirect! We plan to take an obedience class with our son and the dog and will follow through with whatever our trainer recommends.

Discipline:
 We follow a positive parenting philosophy with our son, and would follow the same with our dog. Positive reinforcement and redirection when necessary in the moment. Plus plenty of snuggles to keep our connection strong.
