Who is this dog for?

Myself

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I love corgis. They match my personality. Active, smart, crafty, loyal, loving.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Daily walks ( a must). A bit of frisbee and fun. Brushing them routinly. Feeding and veterinary care obviously.

Aware that Pembrokes are busy, noisy dogs?
Yes

Money for basic care?

Yes

Money for unforeseen medical expenses?
Yes

Willing to house train?
Yes
Willing to do formal training? Yes

Do you have a veterinarian?

No

Vet contact info:
{If yes, please provide contact information including the vet’s name, clinic name, street address, city, state, zip, and phone. Also include the website if there is one.:52}

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
Depends. Age of dog, history of dog, newness of relationship, whether corgi is waging a battle and knows better. If it is my fault, I own it. Also decide on which battles to pick. Corgis are smart and willful. What I like and respect about them.

Discipline:
Again it is stages. Voice commands and facial disapproval. Rewards/approval for getting it right. A problem that can't be solved at that level needs professional guidance. We (mother and I) had to do an Alpha dog with a corgi once. The dog would pee upon hearing the far returning home. Unpleasant, but only had to do it once.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
In the house.

Yes, I work from home.

Where would dog eat?
Kitchen

Where would dog sleep:
Probably on a dog bed in my room, but I would let them find their comfortable place and put a dog bed there.

Play & exercise:
I pretty much go out every day for a 1-2 mile walk in the woods from my house. When I have had corgis their enthusiasm gets me out every day, sometimes twice a day.

How will you exercise your dog?
Both on leash and restrained to the yard

Fenced yard?

No, I don’t have a fenced in yard.

Willing to pick up dog waste?
Yes, I will clean up after my dog.

Description of yard:

I live on 3 acres backing on to conservation land. I would fence a section to be let out in. My experience from training corgis, once you build a relationship, they don't wander far from owners. Corgis need space to run and play. the open field will make a nice frisbee ball throwing place to play and run around and explore.
