Questions Regarding Motivation for Adopting and Intentions
Who is this dog for? |
Marisa and Kyle | ||||||
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
~This is Marisa talking:
I wanted to adopt a corgi for, I guess, a silly reason. I wanted to be like Queen Elizabeth with her having a lot of them and always thought they were super cute. I love how they look like loaves of bread and I feel like it would be the perfect dog for me since I am also short like they are. I also love how their personalities are. I have done some research on this breed and actually had a great experience being around them I went to a Corgi gathering where everyone brought a corgi and wanted to play with all of them and also have a friend who owns one that I enjoyed playing with. |
||||||
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
Kyle and I, Marisa, would definitely be taking our Pembroke on many walks and possibly the dog park when we feel they are ready for it. We would also play with toys and teach them new tricks. We would also maybe take them on trips up north at my, Marisa's, family cottage to explore. There are just so many activities we would like to do with our Pembroke.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
~Marisa here:
If the Pembroke makes a mistake, I would try to figure out a way to correct them. I wouldn't yell, but make my tone sound disappointed in a way to let the dog know that it doesn't need to be scared of me, but to trust me. I guess it would really depend on what the mistake would be. If it was, let's say, peeing in the apartment, I would bring them to the spot they peed at and tell them, "No. We do that outside, not inside." and bring them outside to correct them. |
||||||
Discipline: |
I would tell them to sit and stay in the spot I chose for them to stay at or put them in "time-out" in a way.
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
Probably in our master bedroom or with me, Marisa, in my office while I'm working when I'm working from home.

Yes, for now at least until I, Marisa, can return to the office I work at, but I will also be home during the day mostly on weekends. When that time comes, Kyle will be home during the day at least on Thursdays and Sundays.
Where would dog eat? |
Probably would eat either in the kitchen in a spot, the dining room, or in the living room.
Where would dog sleep: |
The corgi would probably sleep on their bed in our master bedroom near us, in case of needing to go outside so either of us can hear them.
Play & exercise: |
We would definitely take them to the dog park when it is open or take them on plenty of walks when we can, depending on if I, Marisa, am still working from home. We would both play with the corgi with their toys as well. They will get to play at least a couple of hours, really depending on if one of us is at least home more that a couple of hours.
