Who is this dog for?

 Our family, but mostly for me and Matt as our kids are mostly grown. (20 and 22) Also as a companion to our 10 year old border collie Emma.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 Having raised a border collie, we love smart, herding dogs with minds of their own. We're an active couple who loves to hike and walk with our dog and we are expert stick and ball throwers! We have never owned a corgi, but have spent time with our neighbor's, who had had a couple.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Long walks! Chasing balls and sticks outside, and inside! Car trips to nature parks for walks!

People at home during the day?
 During the summer yes, both of us are home. During the school year he or she would be home with our other dog about 7 hours.

Where would dog eat?
 We would have to see what they prefer. Our dog has her food and water out in the kitchen.

Where would dog sleep:
 Wherever they want. Emma starts in our son's bedroom and then moves around a bit during the night.

Play & exercise:
 My husband walks the dog in the early morning about half a mile. I usually let her out again before I leave for work. If my son is home, he takes her out during the day to play. Emma then usually goes out with us after work to play in the yard. On the weekends we always do a long walk at a park or trail. During the summer we do this more often and Emma comes and goes with us as we go inside and outside.

Description of yard:

 We have a big yard that is connected to the neighbors yards with no fences. Emma has never attempted to leave our side, so we don't use the electric fence. We are also able to walk her off leash when we hike. We have a koi pond on our deck. If we needed to fence our yard we would do so.
