Who is this dog for?

This pembroke would be for me, applicant 1.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I currently own a PWC. I grew up with horses and this breed was always in the show barns. 9 years ago I was finally in a place to allow me to dedicate time and training to the breed.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
We hike, play games (puzzle feeders and non-food games), we go to the dog park for socialization, weekly spa days of grooming and nail dremmel with baths as needed, chase squirrels and bunnies, and more.

Aware that Pembrokes are busy, noisy dogs?
Yes

Money for basic care?

Yes

Money for unforeseen medical expenses?
Yes

Willing to house train?
Yes
Willing to do formal training? Yes

Do you have a veterinarian?

Yes

Vet contact info:
{If yes, please provide contact information including the vet’s name, clinic name, street address, city, state, zip, and phone. Also include the website if there is one.:52}

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
We do positive reinforcement. Corgis feed off praise and excitement. They want to please owners. First I remove the item and make it inaccessible if it is something being eaten. I also use baby gates to cordon off areas of the house they should not be in that might not be safe unsupervised.

Discipline:
I have used crate training and the dog version of a time out where the dog must go to their bed and reset for 10 mins. The crate and bed must not be seen as a form of punishment to the dog. A redirect so to speak.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
Inside and out. I work from home three days a week. My PWC has access to the fully fenced back yard as needed due to a electronic pet door. On the two days I am in the office, on one day my corgi lets herself in and out as needed and I dedicate the first two hours coming home to her. On the other day, my corgi goes to day care (Lucky Dog in Swansea) to continue socialization and break up time alone.

Yes on weekends and three days a week.

Where would dog eat?
I feed a diet of 1/4 cup twice a day of N&D Farmina. We use freeze dried lamb and duck for treats.

Where would dog sleep:
I have two types of orthopedic dog beds in my bedroom, where my current corgi sleeps.
