Who is this dog for?

Myself (John Phillips)

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I have owned a corgi for five years and I really enjoy her company. Additionally, my son owns three corgis, one female and two males, and has taken care of them for over six years. Our entire family is partial to corgis and has a collective experience with them that extends over a decade worth of years. We absolutely love our corgis.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Walking, going to the park, playing in the back yard, agility training, obedience classes.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
We would firmly tell the dog "No," and work to correct the behavior through positive reinforcement of the wanted behavior, such as giving of treats and praise for doing the correct behavior, but not for the incorrect behavior.

Discipline:
Stern words and/or a time out in a crate or penned area, if limiting space is called for when working to address an incorrect behavior.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
In or around the house. Someone is almost always home for at least part of the day.

House dog

People at home during the day?
Yes, for most of the day.

Where would dog eat?
The kitchen/dining area.

Where would dog sleep:
In the bedroom or other place in the house. Our current corgi has slept in the bedroom or in another room as she chooses, and the new corgi would be given the choice as well, as long as the dog is behaving well when not directly with any of the owners.

Play & exercise:
We have a fenced-in back yard, and we take multiple walks per day with our current corgi. While our current corgi is getting up in age and isn't super active, we have neighbors with active border collies who have played with our family's corgis before and can be play companions. And my other son has 3 corgis that are also very energetic and come to visit sporadically as well.

How will you exercise your dog?
Both on leash and restrained to the yard

Fenced yard?

Yes, I have a fenced in yard.
