Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We've been looking for a dog which would be ideal for apartment living that would still fare well in the cold of Chicago winter and we think a Pembroke Welsh Corgi ticks both of those boxes, plus we've had great experiences with friends' corgis. They seem to be quite sweet and friendly. We're aware that they can bark a lot and shed a lot but we're confident we can put up with it and seek out and provide any training needed.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		I think it would depend on the dog's personality but it's important to discipline the dog in a way that's firm but not cruel e.g. giving time-outs. As first-time dog owners, we would also seek advice from a professional trainer.

 Putting the dog in a time-out area, speaking to the dog in a firm tone, taking away things that it shouldn't play with, ignoring the dog if it misbehaves in an attention-seeking manner.
