Questions Regarding Motivation for Adopting and Intentions
Who is this dog for? |
my family | ||||||
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
We are looking for a smaller dog to fit in with our family. My daughter thinks Corgis are the cutest thing on the planet, so that’s why we’re interested in adopting one. I’ve looked online and believe that a corgi would blend right in with our family. I think they have the right temperament to get along with my other dogs.
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
Go for walks and car rides, play fetch, take hikes along nearby trails, and just let him outside in our yard to play with the other dogs. Perhaps a dog park every now and then.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
If I were to catch him in the act then I would stop him and correct him immediately. Otherwise I would tell him no in a firm voice as long as not too much time has passed afterwards. If too much time has passed then I would just let it go and watch for the next time.
Discipline: |
I use a loud firm “no” most often, and reward good behavior with treats and praise. If he were to do something wrong I would keep from acknowledging him for a few minutes. Also, a noisy distraction can be useful in some instances as well.
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
At home with my family | ||||||
