Who is this dog for?

The corgi is for the both of us. We have one Boston terrier named Groot and we are looking to add a corgi to our family. I grew up with corgis and feel comfortable being a corgi mom.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I love corgis because I grew up with them. My mother and father typically would have 2-3 corgis at a time. I love how sassy their personalities are and their small little legs. I love how smart corgis are and how affectionate they can be when you’re having a bad day.

My mother still has 3 corgis named Lola,Libby, and Aprile. I consistently go over and spend time with them with our Boston terrier who loves them too.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
We would go on walks, play outside in our fenced in yard, I have a bark box subscription to spoil my pup with toys. We would play with toys alot. I would also utilize our daycare/ training just down the road called, The Woof.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
I would try to use positive reinforcement for the proper response. No yelling or anything when they make a mistake because chances are they will not understand why I’m upset.

Discipline:
Positive reinforcement with a hierarchy of reinforcement (ie.Treats,toys,etc.)

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
At our home

People at home during the day?
Yes and no – Derek and I both have jobs that allow us to make our own schedules so we pretty much coordinate to be home in shifts so our current pup, Groot isn’t by himself for a long period of time.

Where would dog eat?
In our kitchen – we have a good station for Groot right now.

Where would dog sleep:
Either in their crate, in a nice dog bed, or for movie nights cuddled up with us in our bed
