Who is this dog for?

We are looking for another dog to join our one teenager, one Cardigan corgi, one cat household. We've been lucky enough to have 3 different corgis over the year, one of which was a rescue. Our twelve year old corgi, Harry, died a few months ago and while we considered remaining a one dog household, both the humans and Mike the corgi think it's time to bring another dog into the fold. We have a fenced yard and both adults work from home several times per week so supervision, training, and long walks are part of our regular days.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
We have had 3 different corgis over the past 20 years – two Cardigans and one Pembroke. We've found them all to be very smart, attentive, and good fits for our household. They're tougher than they look and are always up for a five mile hike in the woods or just a quick game of tug.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
We'd love to have another dog join us and Mike, our Cardigan corgi, on walks through the neighborhood, hikes through local county parks, and afternoons spent working in the fenced back yard. There's also room for another dog on the couch while we sit and rest at the end of the day.

In our house where more often than not someone is home as well as the fenced back yard.
