Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I’ve wanted a corgi for some time. Since high school. I always love seeing them when they come to me for an appointment as a veterinarian. I understand they were originally herding dogs. I know they often tend to have exercise needs. While I would like a corgi that is more on the relaxed aspect, I am prepared to provide daily exercise. That is regardless of the activity level. Daily walks at the least are important for health. I do understand they can be vocal but as I look for the right one, my hope is that won’t be the case.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 I’d love to do daily walks. Swimming is something I’d also be interested in using a doggy vest. Of course, I’d love for plenty of cuddles.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		Positive reinforcement is the mainstay of success. Never using physical harm. A sharp no and redirect may be used if able to catch in the act. I understand you can’t discipline at all if not right in the act. I wouldn’t yell either.

 Redirection is best. Never use the crate as a discipline. Again, a sharp no would be helpful at Times.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
 Most of the time would be at home with me. I live near Lake Michigan and could do nice walks daily. If needed, I can bring to work at the clinic with me.

 Walks at the start of each day (30-60 minutes). Occasionally an additional walk at the end of the day. Swimming in the summer is something I’m interested in trying. I’d also provide a puzzle feeder and Kong with frozen peanut butter.
