Who is this dog for?

My 13-year-old granddaughter who lives with me.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
"I have done so much research on the breed I know it like the back of my hand. I think they are so happy and so adorable when they are sploting. They have just the right energy level. I think my spirit animal is a corgi and I'll love to come home to it every day," said my granddaughter.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
"I would take it for walks, to a dog park to socialize, and play with it.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
"I would not be angry but, instead, train it to not make the mistake again," said granddaughter.

Discipline:
Grandfather speaking: I would teach my granddaughter to use a short leash and a prong collar in a precise manner which is harmless to the dog (gentle flicks). I would then teach her to use the prong collar with a retractable leash to teach more commands. Next, I would show her to add a vibrating training collar to initiate commands. We would then remove the prong collar and, later, the leash to test obedience. These methods have been successfully used with two Dutch
Shepherds.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
In the home except during playtime. We have a two acre yard surrounded by an underground electric fence. The Pembroke would be fitted with a collar.
