Who is this dog for?

Myself

Why do you want a Pembroke?
We love this breed because they tend to be smaller dogs in size and are perfect for apartment living. They also seem to be affectionate and smart. We know that they require attention and a good amount of exercise. We are also aware that they require grooming as they shed quite a bit. We do not have experience with this breed but have done our research, especially regarding health issues. We know that they are typically healthy but can be prone to hip issues, along with other problems, due to their stature.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Living in a city, our dog would be able to go on plenty of walks and visits to the dog park. Our dog would also have the opportunity to have play dates with our family's mini doodle and of course playtime at home!

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
We would use a more stern voice to stop the behavior. Also, depending on the mistake, we would show our dog what the right way of doing something is and reward them once they correct their mistake by verbal praise or a treat.

Discipline:
We would put our dog in a short time-out, use a stern voice, or take their toys away as negative reinforcement.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
While we are at home, our dog would be free to roam around the apartment. At night, our dog would be placed in his/her crate. During work hours, due to staggered schedules, our dog would be in the crate for a few hours if needed. We would also have a dog walker for longer workdays.
