Who is this dog for?

The pooch will be for myself and my 3 kids. We have always loved Corgi's and always wanted to adopt one.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I just find Corgi's the most adorable breed. They always seem happy. An old friend has had Corgi's and they are so smart. They look like they are smiling. I've just always loved them since I was a child and always wanted to adopt one. Then my daughter read some books on them and she told me she wanted to adopt one so I was looking online and talked to my friend that has had Corgi's for years and she suggested your organization.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
The pooch would be a family member. We would go for walks, dog park. We have a large fenced yard to play with the Pembroke. Snuggle on the couch..etc. It would just be a family dog. We are animal people.

Yes

Willing to do formal training? Yes

Do you have a veterinarian?

Vet contact info:
{If yes, please provide contact information including the vet’s name, clinic name, street address, city, state, zip, and phone. Also include the website if there is one.:52}

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
I would be patient and redirect the dog and show it what it needs to do. It might take multiple attempts for the pooch to learn.

Discipline:
I just say "No" or teach the dog certain commands over time and then show the dog what it should be doing by redirecting it. We are nothing but loving people and would never show any negativity to a dog.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
The pooch would be home with us, outside playing with us, or going for a walk or an outing.

House dog or outside dog?

House dog

People at home during the day?
Yes, I work full time at home. My kids get home from school by 3pm.

Where would dog eat?
It would have dried food mixed in with soft food or if the Pembroke needed to be on a special diet I would provide that. I would do whatever is best for the dog.

Where would dog sleep:
The dog would be upstairs sleeping with us hopefully. But will gauge the dog's comfort level and take it from there. The pooch would have doggie beds all over the house.

Play & exercise:
I have a large yard, the pooch would go on daily walks at least once per day. My kids and I would also play with the dog outside.

How will you exercise your dog?
Both on leash and restrained to the yard

Are you willing to work on it if your new dog doesn’t get along with your current pets right away?
Oh yes definitely. My previous dog, who was 90 lbs, got along very well with our bunnies (they are bonded) and they are not scared of dogs. My old dog would lay by their pen all the time.
