Who is this dog for?

This Pembroke is for my boyfriend and I. We both have always wanted to get a corgi, however, we would much rather prefer to rescue/adopt than go to a breeder.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
We would like to adopt a Pembroke Welsh Corgi because both of us have always loved the breed. I grew up with a close friend of mine who's family owned corgis my entire childhood. I remember always going over there and enjoying the presence of their dogs. The corgi's were always super friendly and playful, something everyone wants in their dog and made me want to own a corgi when I grew up. Aside from their awesome personality, corgi's seem like dogs that like to be active — meaning always having a buddy to go on a walk with or taking trips to the dog beach.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
We would take our Pembroke to dog parks, on daily walks and when the weather permitted to the dog beach. We would also play with him everyday when we got home, whether that be inside of our household or outside. We are pretty active people and want to keep an active relationship with our dog as well.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
If I caught the dog in the act I would make a loud noise to distract the dog from whatever it was doing. For example, if the dog was chewing on one of our shoes, I would simply yell it's name and say "no", or smacking our hands on the table to get the attention off of the shoe.

Discipline:
Time outs: putting the dog in the crate after doing something it shouldn't.

Temporarily ignore: Dogs are very social animals, so by its owner not giving it attention it will learn to obey what the owner wants.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
Weekends and evenings the dog would spend the majority of its time outside or playing inside with the owners. During the days the dog would be able to roam around the household in a cage free environment, while being checked on throughout the day by the owners.
